How to stop being frustrated that you’re always the last in line for emotional support.

I used to get so frustrated that people around me would ask how everyone was doing, except for me.

As a 100%-er, you know we barely ask for help, still, sometimes it seemed so obvious to me that I was clearly giving all the signs that I could do with a hand. But nothing.

That’s when it clicked.

The people who get all the help look like they need it. They complain, moan, talk about their problems. I never did that. Even when I was sad, I’d explain the issue and follow up with “but I’m totally fine now and it’s all sorted” and then get upset that I wasn’t asked about it again.

I didn’t want to become a moaner so what could I do? I realised I had to ask. Specifically, I had to ask in the moment, and I needed to take full responsibility for my feelings and be super clear.

And if they weren’t able to do my request, I made it mean nothing about me. I’ll explain why in my next blog.
